What kinds of ideas about presentation skills did you think about as Sir Ken Robinson presented his ideas about education? How could you incorporate what you saw into your own TED talk?
Sir Ken Robinson used formal body language and talk. He presented in a serious manner, yet lightened it up with occasional humor. The humor is relate-able to his presentation and to his audience. I could really relate to him in this way because I could use his same mannerisms in my TED talk video. This would generate my viewers to focus in on what my facts and information is and how it relates to them. He compared education to other country's education systems, which I could do to compare Sale Representatives in business to other systems in the world. This presentation helped me come up with ideas for my video and what I want to incorporate and send as an overall message.
How did Sir Ken Robinson's talk resonate with you? How might/ might not Genius Hour support Ken Robinson's ideas about how to change education?
Sir Ken Robinson's talk resonated with me about his key points on education. He said that when children hit curiosity in their minds, then learning for them sticks and soaks in. Mentoring and being of assistance in a child's life for education is also explained by Robinson. He says this because kids are natural learners, so with the right guidance then learning becomes easier. His ideas support Genius Hour because there are many examples which he uses to show not only how education can be changed for the better, but also how education can be perfected. Great teachers not only teach but use their creativity to engage and stimulate lives of students. I agree when he talks about how learning has turned into testing and has dominated our culture negatively. All of his points support Genius Hour research and would have wonderful topics to blog about education.
